If you know Eli, then you know he has a love for animals. My great friend Lindsey had told us that the Columbia Zoo was great, so we decided to take our kids to the zoo on Saturday. It was hot, smelly, and crowded, but it really was a fantastic zoo. Needless to say, Eli was entertained for the entire 3 hours we were there. Ranking at the top of his list were the lions, monkeys, gorilla, giraffes and penguins. AND of course the confined spaces where he would try to break free and run through the crowds and try to play chase with Scott. Caroline decided to take a nap most of the trip until we got to the giraffes where she decided to crank it up. Of course she would decide to go ballistic from hunger among the quietest of animals-- the giraffe and the 170 year old tortoise. Kids have impeccable timing don't they?

We were curious to see what animal he would pick after seeing so many that day. SO-- drumroll please..... here is what Eli chose......

It just warms a mother's heart when her son says he wants to be a pink flamingo. :o) Let's just hope that Scott's dad doesn't find this out.......

You are just like your mother! You have such a way with words. I love looking at your posts for 2 reasons; your beautiful children of course and your commentary. I took Madison to the Montgomery Zoo during our Spring Break which is not nearly as lavish as the one you went to I'm sure but nonetheless she had a ball! Great family fun!!
